Man Ray's Violon d'Ingres, The Romanoff Seat

Recently J. Nelson asked for a custom-made chair seat. We submitted several options. They retained a design that we found musical because of the Fa key theme.

Someone said the design made him think of the "Romanoff"; frankly I don't know where he got this idea, yet I feel this name suits the design.

I was thinking along a complete different line. I thought of Man Ray's "Violon d'Ingres".

Man Ray in his surrealistic ways transforms the women into a cello or violin, in this sensual picture I can hear the music. What a wonderful picture this is.
